“WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE ESCAPED?!?” the woman shrieked.
The force of her bellow literally shook the lifeless cinderblock walls of the fortress. The woman’s black collar added to her menace, folding down into a dark pink dress, dotted with black stars, finally flowing down into lavender robes. Atop her head sat a rather large dark pink crown, fading into black spires as they reached up. Her skin, an unhealthy shade of purple, was shadowed by the outside pillars of the fortress. The D-Man that stood before the Queen of the Underwhere nearly whimpered in fear.
Nearly.
“I-I’m sorry, Queen Jaydes, we still don’t know what happened…or, for that matter, how, and why! He just got out: smashed directly through our defenses!!”
Jaydes signed, her icy breath laced with rage. “Find him. I don’t care how you find him, or who you send. Get everyone out there. EVERYONE.”
She leaned closer to the D-Man. “You and I both know the costs of this. That doesn’t matter. Find him. He must be liberated ASAP. GOT IT?”
The D-Man looked at the cold floor. “Y…yes, Jaydes.”
Jaydes looked out of the stained glass window that formed a dark shadow on the throne upon which she sat. “Bring him to me once he is caught. Mark my words…Dimentio will die.”
The boy grinned. He did what no known being was able to do. He escaped from the most powerful prison ever: the Underwhere. It was a place for the dead, those who had lost their games. And he had escaped. The very thought of his monumental success made his ever-present smirk even larger. He fiddled with his hat, a medley of purple and yellow, adorned with yellow diamonds. He usually wore it, but not today. Instead, his head bore white and black hair, one half black, the other white, both separated directly in the middle. His mask hid his face completely, replacing his visage with an eerie smile, one eye yellow, one eye black, but used to have a pink mouth, but was recently replaced with an orange one. He sighed. He never really thought about what he would do after his escape. He never thought he would actually escape. After…the incident…he felt vulnerable. It was a scary feeling. He sighed. What to do now?
The boy (Dimentio) shook his head. What would he do now? Escape from the D-Men? No, he was vulnerable, he forced himself to acknowledge. He could never escape Heck.
MAYBE YOU CAN.
That voice…it could not be…!
YET IT IS. HELLO, MY BOY.
That voice belonged to his master, an unnamed demon of unfathomable darkness. He was the one who controlled Dimentio, forced him to commit treason against his tribe, the source of his infinite smirk. He…survived the explosion.
INDEED. SO, HOW’S LIFE ABOVE DEATH?
“Terrible,” he said to the demon. “What’s the point of life when you’re dead?”
YET YOU ARE NOT DEAD. FOR I TOOK THE FORM OF THE ENERGY SUPERNOVA THAT FREED YOU FROM THAT DANK PRISON.
“WHAT?!? You took control of me AGAIN?! How many times do I have to say, YOU ARE NO LONGER MY MASTER!!”
BEATS LIVING IN YOUR HEAD. STARTED TO GET A CRAMP.
“Oh, please. Who knew an all-powerful demon was such a baby?”
WHO KNEW AN ALL-POWERFUL BOY COULD BE SUCH A RANCID HOST?
“You’re just jealous because I had a family once.”
…
“Ha. Check and mate.”
FOOL. WHO MADE UP A PLAN ONCE WE GOT OUT OF HECK?
“…”
FLUSH.
“Ugh…well, no one gave me any ideas.”
I HAVE ONE. RUN.
It took Dimentio less than a second to warp out of the location before a troop of D-Men burst from the brush.
Dimentio reappeared in a dark cave, geometric indigo stones lining the giant walls.
YOU FOOL. WE ALMOST WERE CAUGHT.
“Almost. Key word there. I got us out of there and out of the Mushroom Kingdom.”
SO WE ARE IN…
“Uhhh…dunno.”
HMPH. FOOL. WE ARE LOST.
“Lost? Impossible! I know exactly where we are!” Dimentio lied. He honestly had never been here before…but he did know where the cave was…
YES. WE ARE BACK IN THE UNDERWHERE.
“Hmm…this sucks…”
INDEED. AS DOES THE GROUP OF D-MEN HEADING TOWARD US.
“Huh? What do you-“
THUNK.
“Uhnn…wha-appened?”
“Hello, boy.”
Dimentio looked up: there, standing before him in all her unholy glory, was Queen Jaydes.
“Hello my queen. You look well.”
“Spare me your flattery, Dimentio. You can do nothing now. For I have you in my grasp.”
Dimentio shook his head. “Ahahaha…foolish monarch. It is you who is in my grasp. For, you see, this all played out according to plan.”
“What is this?” Jaydes said, confused.
Dimentio smiled wider than thought possible. “No fire can quench my power, fool. You cannot defeat me…”
Dimentio sent out a dark energy pulse, destroying his binds (and all near D-Men). He rose up into the air and started to glow with a demonic light.
“For I am, master of dimensions…”
His mask shined brightly with malice.
“…Pleaser of crowds…”
His back erupted with six arms of darkness, each tipped with bloodred iron pincers.
“…And soon-to-be god of all existence!!”
His shadow grew thrice its size, the familiar jester hat becoming horns, hands stretching into claws, and a single eye opening, the eye of the demon possessing Dimentio.
“FOR I AM…DIMENTIO.”
The room suddenly went dark, and every living thing in that room disappeared.
